Job description

Miami Township (Clermont County, Ohio) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Finance Associate to support the Township’s day-to-day financial operations. This onsite, full-time position works Monday through Friday and plays an important role in maintaining accurate payroll, accounting, and purchasing functions for all Township departments.

The Finance Associate performs a variety of administrative, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll duties, including preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll, supporting accounts payable and receivable processes, and assisting with purchasing activities. This position also works with sensitive and confidential employee and Township information and must exercise professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment at all times.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, preferably in local government or the public sector
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Knowledge of government/fund accounting preferred
  • Associate degree in accounting, bookkeeping, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and/or experience may be considered
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality
