Job description

Raisin is the worldโ€™s leading platform for savings and investment products. Founded in 2012, theFinTech connects consumers with banks in the EU, the UK and the US. This gives consumers better interest rates and banks a diversified form of refinancing. Our vision is to offer savings and investments without barriers and thus open up the global 160 trillion euro market.

Raisin currently employs more than 800 people from over 75 countries worldwide. Today, the platform holds over 80 billion euros in assets frommore than one million investors which have accrued over 5 billion euros in returns.

Team

Based out of our office in Sandy, Utah, we are eager to welcome local candidates as well as those looking to relocate to the area. We operate on a hybrid model with an expectation of two days per week in the office.

The Payment Operations team powers the accurate, timely, and secure movement of funds across the entire Raisin U.S. platform. As a multi-bank deposit marketplace supporting high-yield savings accounts, CDs, and a centralized cash account, Raisin facilitates inbound and outbound ACH transactions, reinvestments, and internal money movement across partner banks, custodial banks, and service bank relationships.

Payment Operations owns the end-to-end payment lifecycle: transaction processing, multi-entity settlement, ledger reconciliation, exception resolution, and operational risk mitigation. The team works hand-in-hand with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Custodial and Service Banks and other partners to build scalable financial infrastructure.

As Raisin expands, we are focused on designing a flexible operational architecture capable of supporting a broader multi-rail payment ecosystem.

Your Responsibilities

As the Head of Payment Operations, you will lead our core payments function through an exciting expansion phase: scaling our existing payment infrastructure while designing, launching, and managing operational workflows for new payment rails from the ground up.

You are a hybrid leader: a strategic thinker who can partner internally and externally to launch new capabilities, and an accountable operator who has strong expertise in managing ledger entries, settlement breaks, dispute workflows, and network rules. You bring handsโ€‘on experience across multiple payment rails and a strong understanding of the Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) landscape, including sponsor bank dynamics, issuer processors, and modern payment orchestration.

As Raisin USโ€™s senior most payments operator, you are accountable for ensuring timely and accurate money movement and reconciliation, and the primary architect of our multi rail operational strategy.

Payments Strategy & Operational Leadership
  • Own timely and accurate execution and settlement of all payment instructions in partnership with Raisin engineering, Service Bank and their sub processors.
  • Own and evolve the payment operations strategy for Raisinโ€™s U.S. business, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and accuracy across all money movement flows.
  • Build operational roadmaps to support new product and payment rail expansions, increased product and payment complexity.
  • Represent payments operations in executive forums and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and external banking partners.
  • Anticipate operational risks and design controls that prevent issues before they impact customers or financial partners.
  • Proven track record of directly liaising with external auditors, remediating identified control gaps, and maintaining continuous compliance monitoring between audit cycles.
Reconciliation, Ledger Integrity & Controls
  • Own continuous multi-party reconciliation across Raisin internal ledgers, custodial banks, service banks, Deposit taking bank partners, and other third-party fintech partners.
  • Build and enhance exception reporting and workflow processes to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Partner with Engineering and Data teams to ensure data pipelines, ledger systems, and bank interfaces are accurate and resilient.
  • Engage with Partner Banks, the Service Bank, and the Custodial Bank to resolve breaks and ensure compliance with regulatory and operational obligations.
  • Collaborate with Fraud, Risk, and Compliance teams to define operational controls, transaction monitoring and escalation processes, and dispute management protocols in partnership with the Service bank.
  • Oversee Raisinโ€™s control program and SOC audit program.
  • Own the strategy and design and operationalization of end-to-end money movement flows for new payment rails, including RTP/FedNow, Wires, and for other payment solutions like Direct Deposit, Bill Pay, Debit Cards, and funding mechanisms for embedded investment offerings.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering from discovery to launch, defining operational requirements, transaction boundaries, and ledger mapping for new product launches.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage modern payment infrastructure partners,
  • Serve as the primary operational partner for Service Banks, Custodial Banks, network operators, issuer processors, and third-party fintech platforms.
  • Establish operational SLAs, oversight processes, and audit readiness for external banking partners and regulatory exams.
Your Profile Experience & Expertise
  • 10+ years of leadership in payment operations, treasury operations, fintech, or digital banking.
  • Proven handsโ€‘on operational experience across multiple payment rails, spanning traditional banking rails (ACH, Wires) alongside Instant/Realโ€‘Time payments (RTP/FedNow), Card Issuing/Processing, or BaaS money movement ecosystems.
  • Experience/sound understanding of BaaS structures, Card BIN sponsorship, card issuer processors, and payment orchestration layers.
  • Deep expertise in general ledger reconciliation, multi-bank settlement environments, and operational control frameworks
  • Experience with process and control designs, procedure writing, audit prep and management, including Soc audit program.
  • Track record of partnering with Product and Engineering to design, operationalize and launch new payment products.
  • Agile learning mindset: while expertise across every rail is not required, you have a proven ability to quickly master new payment mechanisms and regulatory standards.
Leadership & Mindset
  • A hands on, entrepreneurial operator who excels in fast-scaling, complex fintech environments.
  • Able to transition seamlessly between high-level operational strategy and hands on troubleshooting.
  • A team builder and enabler eager to transition the agile Payment Operations team into an empowered function, and build specialized operational functions as the platform expands.
  • Entrepreneurial, curious, and data-driven, with a passion for building scalable systems and improving operational resiliency.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior leaders and external bank partners.
Join our mission, join our team โ€“ and grow with us!

At Raisin, we care about each other and it is one of our top priorities to foster an open and caring environment in which everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Our culture is strongly driven by our ambitious team, which connects more than 75 different nationalities.

As part of our team, you will benefit from:

  • Flexible working hours and up to 28 days PTO accrued from your first month, plus 13 public holidays.
  • Employee Development Budget of $2,200 and 4 full training days per year.
  • Company 401k contribution of 5%.
  • Healthcare coverage contribution, including medical, dental and vision.
  • Commuter benefits and flexible working from home policy.
  • Regular team events and yearly Summer and Winter Party

We value diversity and the unique experiences each individual brings. If youโ€™re excited about this role but donโ€™t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or gender identity.
