Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Executive to join our growing merchant services and payment processing company. This individual will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing inbound and outbound sales activities, conducting merchant consultations, and closing payment processing agreements with businesses across the United States.
The ideal candidate has experience in merchant services, payment processing, financial services, SaaS sales, or B2B sales and is comfortable working with both cold and warm leads. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, consultative selling abilities, and occasional travel for client meetings, trade shows, industry events, and partner development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
  • Prospect and identify new merchant opportunities through outbound calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships (includes both warm and cold leads).
  • Follow up promptly with inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, referral partners, and company initiatives.
  • Schedule and conduct sales presentations, discovery calls, and product demonstrations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline using the company's CRM system.
  • Gather signed merchant applications and support documents or stipulations for our Underwriting department to review.

Merchant Consultation & Sales
  • Analyze prospective merchants' current payment processing solutions and identify opportunities for savings and operational improvements.
  • Present customized solutions including:

    • Credit card processing
    • ACH processing
    • Payment gateways
    • Virtual terminals
    • Point-of-sale systems
    • Recurring billing solutions
    • E-commerce payment solutions
    • Other proprietary software solutions

  • Prepare pricing proposals and negotiate agreements.
  • Close new merchant accounts and achieve monthly sales targets.

Relationship Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, risk, operations, and customer support teams to facilitate smooth merchant onboarding.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with merchants to identify additional sales opportunities and referrals.
  • Support strategic partner and referral relationships.

Travel & Industry Representation
  • Conduct in-person meetings with prospective merchants and referral partners.
  • Travel as needed to support business development initiatives.

Sales Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in CRM.
  • Track pipeline performance and forecast monthly sales results.
  • Prepare reports on sales activities, opportunities, and closed business.
  • Stay informed regarding industry trends, payment technologies, card brand regulations, and competitive offerings.

Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:

Qualifications
Required
  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience in merchant services, payment processing, and fintech space.
  • Understanding of credit card processing, ACH processing, POS systems, processing fees, merchant underwriting processes.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to generate leads and close business.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Existing network of business owners, referral partners, or industry contacts a plus.

PAY RATE:
  • $20/hour + potential performance-based bonus and uncapped commission.
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
