Senior Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic

Location: Boucherville, Quebec Schedule: 4-day, 10-hour shifts. Wednesday to Saturday, or Sunday to Wednesday. 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour

Tired of being the most experienced guy in the shop and having nothing to show for it?

Fifteen years in, you are the one training the new hires, catching the mistakes, and handling the units nobody else wants. And your rate looks about the same as it did five years ago.

We are hiring senior mechanics and paying senior rates. $38 to $45 an hour, based on what you can actually do.

Four-day weeks. Ten-hour days, done at 4:00 PM, and three days off every week. Days, not nights. If you have been working evenings for years and want your life back, this is the schedule.

What you'll do
  • Diagnose and repair heavy road vehicles, tractors, and trailers
  • Handle complex diagnostics on engine, aftertreatment, transmission, and electrical systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
  • Work on brake, suspension, steering, hydraulic, air, and HVAC systems
  • Use manufacturer diagnostic software to troubleshoot and verify repairs
  • Mentor less experienced mechanics in the shop
  • Keep documentation clean and equipment records accurate
What you bring

You need one of the following:

  • A trade certification in heavy vehicle mechanics (DEP 5330 or carte de compétence) with 2 years of experience, or
  • 5 years of recent, continuous heavy vehicle mechanic experience with no trade certification required

Quebec is one of the only provinces where proven experience counts on its own. If you have the years in and you can do the work, the card is not a barrier here.

For this role, we are specifically looking for 5+ years and paying accordingly.

Also required:

  • Valid Canadian provincial driver's license. An international license does not qualify.
  • Eligibility to travel to the United States within a six-month window, in case training requires it
  • Your own hand tools

Nice to have: PEP attestation, SAAQ inspection certification, Class 1 or Class 3 license, manufacturer training on any major engine platform, foreman or lead experience.

Language: French or English. Both work here.

Total earning potential

Beyond the $38 – $45 hourly base:

  • Overtime available and paid at premium
  • Weekend shift premium on applicable hours
