Job description

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Position Status: Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time 40 hours
The HR Generalist is the operational heartbeat of Bayside's HR team. This role is the first point of contact for the day-to-day employee experience. The Generalist ensures that every person at Bayside is processed with accuracy, care, and consistency. This is not a behind-the-scenes role. It requires someone who can hold tight deadlines without sacrificing warmth, manage sensitive employee information with complete discretion, and navigate compliance requirements without losing the human element that defines Bayside culture.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Onboarding amp; Offboarding
    • Own all Paycor system-side processing for new hires.
    • Document staff transitions, including role changes, campus transfers, and internal moves.
    • Manage all offboarding tasks from system deactivation to final record updates.
  • Compliance amp; Documentation
    • Complete I-9 verification on Day 1 of employment with zero exceptions. Submit E-Verify within 3 business days of hire. Monitor and flag re-verification dates for work authorization renewals 30 days in advance.
    • Maintain accurate, audit-ready employee records in Paycor at all times
  • Benefits Administration
    • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
    • Serve as the employee-facing resource for benefits questions, directing complex issues to vendors as appropriate.
    • Manage all open enrollment logistics.
    • Coordinate maternity/paternity benefit conversations, forms, and Paycor updates; Add new dependents (newborns, placements).
    • Process critical illness leave entries in Paycor.
  • Leave amp; Time Management
    • Administer PTO tracking, adjustments, and corrections.
    • Oversee time and hourly timesheet compliance; submit corrections before payroll close each cycle
  • All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of HR.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of HR, benefits administration, or operations experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in an HRIS platform (Paycor experience strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of I-9 compliance and E-Verify processes
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Exceptional discretion with confidential employee information
  • Experience in a church, nonprofit, or faith-based organization
