Position Summary
Constructors Inc. is looking for highly motivated Crane Operator to be efficient with several types of heavy equipment such as skid loaders, track loaders, rubber tire loaders and track excavators. Must be willing to assist in general jobsite operations, daily maintenance of equipment and daily maintenance of slings, cables and straps. Experience with diesel pile hammer and vibratory hammer driving operations is beneficial. Individual must be NCCCO certified for lattice boom cranes. Must have knowledge of rigging compliance and procedures along with the ability to operate within equipment load limits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Individual must be NCCCO certified for lattice boom cranes.
Must have knowledge of rigging compliance and procedures along with the ability to operate within equipment load limits.
Working knowledge of cranes including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and record keeping systems. Ability to understand and use all applicable crane hand signals.
Lattice Boom operation preferred.
Follows direction of Foreman/Superintendent on daily tasks and expectations for each specific job site or project.
NCCCO Mobile Crane certification or equivalent
Ability to safely climb and access equipment
Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 75 pounds or more
Willing to work and have reliable transportation
Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (sometimes long hours)
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work in safety sensitive construction zone, around large machinery and heavy equipment
Ability to work cooperatively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment
Position Requirements and Education
  • A High School diploma or GED; and at least 3+ years in bridge construction.
  • Ability to work in a high production environment.
  • Must be able to work according to seasonal and construction demand schedule.
  • Must have previous heavy equipment experience concentrating on equipment used for the construction of heavy highways.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use feet, hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment.
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Must be able to sit in the equipment for extended periods of time and be subject to the bouncing of the seat in the equipment.
Occasionally will use a shovel to move material.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Shifts will vary based on demands of schedule and can require overtime hours.
