Job Description:

As an Asphalt Screed Operator, you will play a crucial role in our asphalt paving operations. Your primary responsibility will be to operate the screed on our paving machine to ensure a smooth, level, and consistent asphalt surface. You will work closely with other crew members to achieve optimal results and meet project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the screed on the asphalt paving machine to lay asphalt to the desired width and depth.
  • Monitor the temperature and flow of asphalt to ensure a uniform surface.
  • Adjust screed settings to achieve specified grades and slopes.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the screed and paving machine.
  • Work collaboratively with the paving crew to ensure efficient and quality work.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the project manager and other crew members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Asphalt Screed Operator.
  • Thorough understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
