What is pavement marking?

Pavement marking refers to the process of applying lines, symbols, and other markings to roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces to guide and regulate traffic. These markings are typically made using durable paints, thermoplastic, or tape, and include features like lane lines, crosswalks, arrows, and stop bars. Pavement markings are essential for road safety, helping both drivers and pedestrians navigate streets and intersections safely. Proper application and maintenance are crucial, as faded or missing markings can lead to confusion and accidents.

To thrive as a Pavement Marking Technician, you need a strong understanding of traffic safety, attention to detail, and the ability to operate marking equipment, often supported by a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license.
