Site Overview:
Our Dubuque, Iowa facility is a union manufacturing plant with approximately 10 employees. The site specializes in fabricating polyurethane foam products for a variety of industrial and specialty applications. As a key location within FXI's manufacturing network, the Dubuque plant is known for its strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence. Team members work in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuous improvement and innovation play a central role.
Job Overview
As a Glue & Assembly Team Member, you will partner with the production team and Plant Manager to assemble patterned foam components using adhesive application techniques in accordance with customer specifications and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read job specifications accurately, and a strong commitment to quality and efficiency in the assembly process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong safety culture by following all safety procedures, properly handling adhesives, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assemble patterned foam components using glue and other bonding methods according to job specifications and production standards.
  • Read and interpret work orders, job sheets, and measurements to ensure accurate assembly and proper alignment of materials.
  • Apply adhesives evenly and correctly to ensure secure bonding and high-quality finished products.
  • Monitor assembled products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications before moving to the next production stage.
  • Maintain daily production sheets and document completed work accurately.
  • Support overall plant operations by assisting with material staging, cleanup, and additional tasks as assigned by supervision.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications and accurately use a tape measure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assemble patterned components with precision.
  • Ability to meet production standards while maintaining consistent quality.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials as required.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices, including safe adhesive handling.
  • Dependable work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and perform assigned tasks independently.
