Job description

Role Summary
Urban Outfitters is seeking a highly creative Assistant Graphic Designer to join its Men's design team. This role focuses on developing original graphics and textile artwork for apparel, including bold placements, logo treatments, and trend-driven visual storytelling that enhance product across categories. In addition, this role will support all graphic initiatives across trims and brand concept presentations. Strong concept and trend-driven research is key to the Assistant Graphic Designer role.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow the brand by bringing fresh, forward-thinking graphic concepts to life. The ideal candidate draws inspiration from streetwear, vintage & contemporary fashion, and lifestyle culture, and can translate those influences into distinctive, dynamic, and brand-right apparel graphics that align with the Men's Urban Outfitters aesthetic.
Role Responsibilities
  • Develop original graphics and illustrations for apparel that reflect the men's Urban Outfitters aesthetic and direction.
  • Create original textile artwork and repeat patterns for apparel.
  • Build seasonal and thematic concept decks for graphics aligned with brand initiatives and seasonal design direction in-mind.
  • Utilize AI tools to bring seasonal and thematic graphic presentations to life.
  • Create and implement original artwork into the development of apparel trims.
  • Collaborate closely with the Men's Design, Merchandising, and Concept teams to ensure cohesive seasonal collections.
  • Translate brand concepts, trend research, and seasonal themes into innovative graphics and print design.
  • Source and manipulate materials, patterns, and textures for apparel graphics and craft execution.
  • Work with production teams to prepare print-ready files for screen printing, digital printing, embroidery, and other embellishment methods.
  • Stay on top of streetwear, fashion, and lifestyle trends to ensure designs remain relevant and culturally resonant.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high creative standards.

Role Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Textile Design, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in apparel graphic/print design, preferably in men's lifestyle brand.
  • Strong understanding of trend forecasting, color theory, typography, and illustration.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Experience with CAD and print production processes is a plus.
  • Strong conceptual and visual storytelling skills, with the ability to translate brand voice into design.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative with excellent communication skills.
