Patient Care Technician (PRN)
University of Maryland Capital Region Health (Laurel, MD)

Are you passionate about patient care and looking to grow your healthcare career in a fast-paced hospital environment? University of Maryland Capital Region Health is seeking compassionate and motivated Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to join our team!


In this role, you will work closely with licensed nurses and the interdisciplinary care team to provide high-quality, hands-on patient care while supporting the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients.

This is a PRN position scheduled to work less than 1,000 hours per year.


What You'll Do
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse
  • Obtain and document vital signs and report changes in patient condition
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility needs
  • Support patient safety initiatives, including fall prevention and infection control
  • Monitor and report physical or emotional changes in patients
  • Assist with patient transfers and safely operate patient care equipment
  • Maintain clean, organized patient care areas and stock supplies as needed
  • Respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and team members
