Position Details

Location: Hybrid - onsite 3 days per week. 1 day per week will be at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI as a team. 1-2 days will be at coverage location or Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Team is split into coverage locations which include: Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI; Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital in Menomonee Falls, WI; Froedtert West Bend Hospital in West Bend, WI and Froedtert Community Hospitals.

Job Summary:

Provides diversified system-wide or multi-clinic support for patient safety activities that impact strategic initiatives. Works closely with hospital leaders, physicians and clinical staff to analyze and improve clinical care practices. Serves as an internal systems thinking expert and consultant. Collaborates with departments and interdisciplinary teams to identify, develop and implement strategies to improve clinical care and/or processes related to patient safety. Effectively participates in activities designed to improve quality of care through active facilitation of /or direct facilitation in initiatives designed to improve process of care and outcomes, reduction of system hazards, and preventable harm. Conducts and facilitates credible systematic investigations on patient safety events through to implementation and control phase of monitoring to sustain improvement. Reports barriers to success in a timely manner and offers meaningful recommendations for resolution.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hospital experience is required with evidence of performance improvement project experience. Experience with and/or working knowledge of basic process improvement method: PDSA, Process mapping, and Project Management is required. Emergency, Critical care or Quality Management experience is preferred. Experience in performance improvement activities is preferred. Prior leadership experience preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

1) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other Clinical area, or 2) Master's Degree in Health Care related field is required. Clinical Master's Degree is preferred.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

Ability to prioritize concentration and pay close attention to details. Knowledge and experience with a wide variety of computer programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Advanced training in process improvement methodologies including: Lean, Six Sigma and Change Management. Experience in developing department performance summaries with drill-down information/explanations of variance to desired performance. EPIC experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with providers, leadership and clinical staff. Comfortable in clinical settings to assist teams at the point of care with problem solving or action plans related to RCAs. Professional presentation skills and ability to adapt/communicate relevant message to audience. Excellent written and verbal skills. Strong ability to coordinate, lead and execute on team deliverables.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

RN and/or CPPS certification is preferred.
