Job description

Job Summary

The Patient Safety Monitor- C.N.A., under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or the Physician, provides age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. Provides continuous monitoring and supervision of selected patients who meet eligibility criteria for involuntary status under the Georgia Mental Health Code (1013, 2013, 1014, 1021 certificates), but are not limited to, patients requiring suicide precautions, patients who need supervision to prevent them from falling or otherwise harming themselves when it is not feasible for the nursing staff to provide these services. Advocates for patient/patient family and participates in performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Patient Safety Monitor will provide all ADL care as rendered by a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Long-Term Care Environment. The CNA provides personal care of selected patients, assists with activities of daily living, provides comfort measures and nourishments, and performs selected therapies as delegated by a licensed professional. The role of the CNA also includes patient advocacy and performance improvement.

High School Diploma or GED.

Current Georgia Nurse Aide Certification (CNA).

Georgia Heart Association (BLS)
