Description

Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe is seeking a Registered Nurse I (RN-I) to join our dedicated team at Jamestown Family Health Clinic in Sequim, WA.

In this dynamic outpatient role, you'll work at the heart of patient care—supporting preventive services, managing chronic conditions, and partnering with providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN-I plays a vital role in coordinating care across the continuum, improving health outcomes, and empowering patients through education and support.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain efficient patient flow, including obtaining vital signs and rooming patients as needed
  • Perform nursing procedures, therapies, tests, and services as ordered within scope of practice
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Promote a safety-conscious work environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds
  • Prioritize and ensure timely response to patient encounters (in-person, phone, and written)
  • Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to maintain efficient clinic operations
  • Coordinate care across services, providers, and levels of care
  • Manage chronic conditions including depression, diabetes, CHF, and chronic pain
  • Administer IV therapies
  • Provide general nursing care including medication administration, EKGs, and clinic-waived testing
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist with clinical procedures
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, medications, and wellness
  • Observe, document, and report patient conditions and responses to treatment
  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete clinical documentation
  • Respond to patient calls and provide treatment guidance
  • Adhere to nursing standards, clinic protocols, and all JST/JFHC policies (including HIPAA)
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Provide supervision and guidance to medical assistants, students, and clinical staff as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and committees
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and regulations
  • Understanding of safety practices, infection control, and environmental safety
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to provide high-quality patient care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous clinic or outpatient experience
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • American Indian/Alaska Native preference applies
