Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a travel Long Term Care assignment in Seward, Alaska.
This role supports a skilled nursing and long-term care patient population with a focus on chronic conditions, cognitive care, and rehabilitation support.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This assignment is ideal for RNs experienced in LTC environments who are comfortable managing higher patient ratios while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a rural Alaska setting.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
13 or 26-week contract (traveler choice)
Day or Night shift available (no required rotation)
4x12-hour shifts
Days: 07:00-19:30
Nights: 19:00-07:30
Floating required within facility
No call required
COMPENSATION
Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct patient care in a long-term care setting
Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered
Perform assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
Manage feeding tubes, wound care, and chronic disease processes
Support residents with ADLs and mobility needs
Follow infection control and isolation precautions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team
UNIT OVERVIEW
Long Term Care facility
Approximately 40 patient census
Patient ratio: 1:20
Adult and geriatric population
Common diagnoses include dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, and chronic conditions
ECS charting system

Requirements

Minimum 1 year RN experience REQUIRED
LONG TERM CARE experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
Previous travel experience REQUIRED
Active Alaska RN license REQUIRED at submission (NO pending)
BLS certification required
Ability to manage 1:20 patient ratio required
Must be willing to float within facility
Must meet 50-mile radius rule
No locals accepted
RTO must be submitted with application
Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
Important Notes:
First-time travelers NOT accepted
Strong LTC skill set required (wound care, G-tubes, glucose monitoring, respiratory treatments)
Alaska Food Worker Certification required (completed onsite, $10 fee)
Facility provides rental vehicle (must meet eligibility requirements)
Housing is limited in the area
Modules non-billable (avg 16 hours)
Must submit all RTO upfront (strict enforcement)
