Job Description Summary
The Senior Buyer reports directly to the Purchasing Manager of Supply Chain and is responsible for procuring supplies for Southeast Health hospital, clinics, Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM), Statera Health, Southeast Medicine Shop and Southeast Health Foundation. Assist staff with procurement of goods and services utilizing Southeast Health preferred suppliers. Pursues cost improvement initiatives for financial awareness. Serves as liaison to suppliers, strategic sourcing and key department leaders to generate request in accordance of Supply Chain standards.
Job Description
Essential Functions
  • Administers request and purchase order process via Workday
  • Proactively manage and reconcile Open Purchase orders to ensure receiving and match exceptions.
  • Collaborates with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies specific to pricing, receiving and match exception.
  • Manages delivery schedules while considering optimum inventory levels for invoice stock locations.
  • Creates and manages returns
  • Assist Purchasing Manager in establishing business processes to maximize efficiency, speed and accuracy of purchase order volumes.
  • Assist customers in Workday requisitioning process
  • Understands the use of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and local contracts
  • Works collaboratively with other department managers and directors to improve purchasing efficiency and processes
  • Performs other duties as requested by primary manager that do not compromise moral code of conduct or protocols set in place for patient or employee safety

Qualifications
Minimum Education Required
  • Associates degree in business, supply chain management, or accounting
Minimum Education Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or accounting
Minimum Experience Required
  • One (1) years' experience with emphasis on basic business, supply chain management, or accounting
Minimum Experience Preferred
  • Three (3) years' experience with emphasis on basic business, supply chain management, or accounting

Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
  • Able to work in a high volume, extremely detailed oriented office environment
  • To deliver high-quality customer service (professionalism, patience, and a people-first attitude)
  • Self-starter able to work as a team member and team leader, able to achieve objectives and maintain flexibility in approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interest and obtain cooperation
  • Adaptable and flexibility to changing management protocols
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook plus possess the ability to learn other department specific software programs such as Workday and others.
  • Able to analyze complex issues and problems to create and implement solutions
  • Must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to prepare reports and updates as and when required.
