Job description

General Manager - Revenue and Growth

About Pathfinder Hospitality

At Pathfinder, hospitality is not just in our name - it's in our DNA. Our Platinum Service promise is simple: do unto others better than they could have ever imagined. Our core values - Accountability, Collaboration, Empowerment, Engagement, Innovation, Integrity, Passion, and Transparency - are not wall art. They're how we make decisions.

We have an infinite mindset. We're building something that outlasts its founders. The GM we hire here is part of that.

Role Overview

Aloft Austin Southwest has a 4.6-star rating, a superior product, and a better location than most of its competitive set. And yet - we're not winning the revenue game the way we should be. The hotel is currently performing below its natural RevPAR Index threshold, which means there is real, uncaptured upside waiting for the right leader with a genuine ownership mindset to claim it. If you're the kind of leader who sees a gap like that as an opportunity rather than a red flag, this role was built for you.

What This Role Actually Is

This is a revenue-first general management role. Operations matter - a clean, well-run hotel is table stakes - but your primary accountability is growing RevPAR and recapturing market share. You will be measured on it, coached on it, and celebrated for it.

Here's what that looks like week to week:

  • Working a structured Weekly Success Planner (WSP) that tracks sales activity, pipeline, and revenue outcomes - not just occupancy reports
  • Leading by example in a culture where everybody sells: front desk, housekeeping leads, breakfast attendants - everyone
  • Owning your comp set and knowing exactly why you're winning or losing on any given week
  • Actively developing and coaching your team on revenue-generating behaviors, not just service standards

You will go through a rigorous multi-day sales and revenue leadership boot camp with the Pathfinder leadership team before or shortly after starting. This is not optional. It's how we wire the mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own revenue growth as your primary KPI - RevPAR Index improvement is the headline metric through aggressive sales and marketing
  • Provide strong leadership and coaching to Internal guests (Team Members), helping to mentor them and help them become the best version of themselves.
  • Embody Pathfinder's core values and Platinum Service Culture to our internal and external guests
  • Serve as an ambassador for property and Pathfinder by building strong relationships within the local community.
  • Proactively recruit year-round for new Internal Guests via Social Media, Referral Program Awareness Campaign and Career Fairs
  • Create value for the property in an empowered culture by fostering a culture of innovation, embodying a zero-based budgeting mindset, and maintaining a pristine building
What We're Looking For

The non-negotiables:

  • A demonstrable track record of revenue growth
  • High emotional intelligence paired with a bias for action
  • Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
  • Comfort with accountability structures: metrics, check-ins, and honest conversations
  • A genuine ownership mindset: you treat the hotel's results as your own, full stop
  • Strong desire to keep growing as a hospitality and revenue leader
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual Salary: $135,000
  • 8 paid holidays, flexible PTO and vacation
  • Birthday Pay
  • Additional paid time off for community involvement
  • Health Insurance
  • IRA Match Program
  • Mental Health & Wellness Program including a Life Coach
  • Employee Development Program
  • Discounted hotel stays across our portfolio
