That's why we're looking for a Patent Specialist to provide comprehensive patent prosecution support to attorneys and clients throughout the U.S. patent application lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...
  • Managing assigned dockets and collaborating with IP docketing team
  • Reviewing, processing, and filing new applications and supplemental files
  • Preparing e-filings of IDSs, Supplemental ADSs (application data sheets), Declarations, Assignments, Translations of Specifications, and Preliminary Amendments
  • Assisting with responses to various Office Actions
  • Preparing client correspondence and various reporting letters
  • Managing the billing process; collaborating with Billing Department

  • A minimum of three years of patent prosecution experience, including partner-level practice management support
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and completion of continuing education courses, including intellectual property training programs
  • Proven knowledge of federal rules, regulations, and U.S. and international Intellectual Property Law (37 C.F.R., MPEP, PCT regulations)
  • Ability to effectively utilize IP docketing software (CPi) and USPTO online resources
  • Proficient knowledge and usage of document management system (iManage)
  • Ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflow and maintain an organized task schedule
  • Ability to manage high volume and efficiently prioritize competing demands

Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC: $90,000 - $110,000 per year
