Job description

Overview
When Microsoft Ignite and Microsoft Build go live, the attendee experience only feels seamless because dozens of systems behave as one - registration, session scheduling, streaming, mobile, badging, and a broad ecosystem of SaaS partners all firing in sync. The Event Integrations and Operations Lead is the person who makes that happen. You own the deployment of our flagship events end to end, and you are the connective tissue between Microsoft's platform and the third-party services that extend it, turning a collection of tools into one connected experience.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering and program management. You will partner hands-on with SaaS providers to design and stand up the API integrations that link their services into the event ecosystem, and you will drive the operational rhythm that gets every event across the finish line on time. When a date cannot move, you are the person building the work-back schedule, holding teams accountable to it, and clearing the path so nothing slips.
You bring energy and calm to equal measure. You communicate crisply across engineering, product, vendors, and event producers; you anticipate the dependency that will bite three weeks from now; and you sweat the details, because at event scale a single broken integration is visible to millions of people at once. If you are self-motivated, organized under pressure, and energized by high-stakes delivery, we would like to meet you.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Own the end-to-end deployment of Microsoft's flagship events, including Microsoft Ignite and Microsoft Build, from planning through live execution and post-event wrap-up.
  • Partner with SaaS providers across the event ecosystem to connect their services into a single, seamless attendee experience.
  • Design, build, and validate API integrations between Microsoft's event platform and third-party services, and troubleshoot them under live conditions.
  • Build and maintain detailed work-back schedules that map every dependency to an owner and a date, and hold teams accountable to those commitments.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration across engineering, product, marketing, vendors, and event operations, keeping everyone aligned on scope, status, and risk.
  • Run the operational rhythm of each event - readiness reviews, integration testing, go/no-go checkpoints, and live-event command - so issues are caught early and resolved fast.
  • Communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at every level, from individual engineers to executive sponsors.
  • Capture lessons learned and continuously improve the integration and operations playbook so each event runs smoother than the last.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Experience delivering large-scale live events, media productions, or other high-visibility programs with hard launch dates.
  • Experience integrating and managing SaaS or third-party vendor platforms within a larger technical ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred), webhooks, authentication and authorization patterns, and data exchange between systems.
  • Experience leading live operations or command-center-style execution under time pressure.
  • A track record of building repeatable playbooks and improving operational processes over time.
  • Hands-on experience with API development and integration - designing, building, and troubleshooting REST or similar APIs to connect distributed systems and third-party services.
  • Proficient in project and program management, including building and driving work-back schedules that hold cross-functional teams accountable to dates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Demonstrated success driving cross-team collaboration to deliver complex projects on fixed, immovable deadlines.
