JOB ID: 4795 - ABE Office Generalist - Part-time position beginning on or around September 8, 2026. 
Location: Northfield Community Education Center  
Scheduled Hours/Days: 3:15-7:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, during the school year
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of Adult Basic Education programming and policies, preferred
Understanding of basic computer, office equipment and software
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of adult learners, preferred  
Pay Rate/Range: $21.85 - $23.63/hr.
Compensation/Benefits/Perks: This position is not eligible for benefits.
Deadline: Open Until Filled  -- EOE (8/17/2026) Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.
Job Summary:
The ABE Office Generalist provides general clerical and student and staff support for Adult Basic Education programming, including, but not limited to, Adult English Language Learners and GED classes.  
Responsibilities:





















  • Regular student intake and testing
  • Manage GED testing schedules and appointments
  • Register, check in, and communicate with test-takers
  • Prepare and monitor the testing environment
  • Set up and troubleshoot testing computers and technology
  • Monitor testing sessions and maintain test security
  • Coordinate with GED/testing vendors on issues
  • Document testing activity, incidents, and records
  • Handle cancellations, rescheduling, and test-day issues
  • Maintain required GED testing certification
