Job description

Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) has a reputation as one of the best two-year colleges in the state of Missouri. About the Role
The EXCELerator is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Office Assistant to provide evening support for our student success center. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for students, staff, and visitors. If you enjoy helping others, have strong communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we'd love to have you on our team.
This is a part-time 16 hours per week schedule: Monday-Thursday, from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome students, staff, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
  • Schedule academic and career coaching appointments.
  • Maintain accurate records, assist with data entry, and generate reports as needed.
  • Manage office supplies and help keep the front desk area organized.
  • Prepare spaces for classroom visits and guide visitors to their destinations.
  • Provide administrative support for staff and assist with event coordination.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous customer service or administrative experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized in a busy environment.
  • Friendly, patient, and student-focused attitude.
