Learn more about MATC at www.matc.edu. Under the direction of the Associate Dean of the General Education Pathway, or designee, to develop and teach concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. Will require teaching courses in-person at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and/or online during the day, evening, and/or weekend

Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities. Manage the classroom/laboratory.

Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation. Manage equipment, supplies and materials. Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.

Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area. Attend departmental and institutional meetings. Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.

Support student organizations and activities. Develop relationships with business and industry. Complete program evaluation and follow-up.

Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.

Minimum Educational Requirements: Must have at least ONE of the following: Master's degree or higher in Economics specifically, OR; Master's degree or higher in any field with at least 18 GRADUATE level coursework credits in Economics specific coursework. Preferred Qualifications in ADDITION to the Minimums Listed Above: Verifiable occupational work experience in a field other than education. Experience in teaching, using, and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including face-to-face, blended, and 100% online.

Must be able to develop and maintain curriculum currency. Must embrace and demonstrate Standards of Teaching Excellence and the MATC Career Essentials in development and delivery of instruction. Standards of Teaching Excellence: Understanding Students and Fostering Student Success Classroom Management Planning/Organization Content Mastery and Currency Teaching Methodology Assessment of Student Learning Professional Contributions Essential Technology: Email - Experience with an Email system (Gmail, Outlook) Telephone - Experience with a voice mail system Computer - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Essential Supportive Technology: Experience with or willingness to learn the following supportive technologies: Online Information Management Systems -e.g

Self-Service or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters Blackboard Ultra - Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course - management systems Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology Emerging Technologies - Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications) Supplemental Information Start Date: This position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start for IN PERSON teaching in the fall semester; September start date. Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position.

This is an "applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. Work schedule could include in person, online, hybrid, daytime, evening, and weekend teaching assignments.

Parr-time faculty pool positions include in-person participation in teaching and non-teaching duties and assigned off-campus instruction (including but not limited to community education, workforce solutions, and dual enrollment) based upon College need. All work must be conducted in the state of Wisconsin, we do NOT have any virtual opportunities for out-of-state residents. Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching.

Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable. Interview: As part of the interview process, selected candidates are required to prepare and present an interactive theory lesson and simulated teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes of the overall interview time, which may be conducted in-person or virtually.
