Art Teacher (Part-Time)

About the Position
We are looking for an enthusiastic Art teacher to foster and facilitate the intellectual, creative, and spiritualย 
development of our students. This is a part-time salaried position, three and a half days per week (Tuesdayย 
through Thursday, plus Friday mornings), teaching art to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in aย 
dedicated art room. The schedule includes grade-level art classes for Kindergarten through 4th grade, combinedย 
5th/6th and 7th/8th grade classes, a middle school art elective, lunch duty, and built-in planning periods.
Our teacher will implement lessons and teach children with patience, creativity, and the love of God, willย 
demonstrate a mature and vibrant relationship with God, and will be dedicated to the philosophy of Christianย 
education.


Qualifications:
โ€ข A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and a life that reflects strong Christian character andย 
biblical values
โ€ข Experience teaching art to elementary and/or middle school students preferred
โ€ข Ability to plan and teach age-appropriate art instruction across a wide range of ages (Kindergarten throughย 
8th grade), including combined-grade middle school classes
โ€ข Superior communication and people skills
โ€ข Personality traits that allow for a positive relational connection with children, parents, and staff
โ€ข Organizational skills and flexibility, with the ability to handle change and multiple taskings
โ€ข Passion for Christian education and the ability to inspire students of all ages
โ€ข Whole-hearted agreement with the school's Tenets of Faith and Christian Philosophy of Education
โ€ข Desire to work in the context of a Christian professional learning community
โ€ข Proficiency with (or willingness to be trained in) classroom technology including Smart Board, Googleย 
Classroom, FACTS, and Curriculum Trak
โ€ข Valid driver's license and a clean driving record


Responsibilities:
โ€ข Serve as the art instructor for Kindergarten through 8th grade, three and a half days per week
โ€ข Teach a variety of media and foundational art concepts appropriate to each grade level, integrating a biblicalย 
worldview that reflects creativity as part of God's design
โ€ข Design engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans tied to student outcomes
โ€ข Teach a middle school art elective in addition to regular grade-level art classes
โ€ข Serve a scheduled lunch duty on teaching days
โ€ข Attend weekly chapel with students
โ€ข Maintain a safe, orderly, and creative art room, including care of art supplies and materials
โ€ข Display student artwork throughout the school and coordinate student art for school events and showcases
โ€ข Assess student progress, maintain accurate grades and records, and provide timely feedback to students andย 
parents
โ€ข Supervise a weekly study hall and assist with additional school responsibilities as assigned
โ€ข Build fruitful and mentoring relationships with students, parents, and staff
โ€ข Serve as a member of a professional learning community
โ€ข Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students
โ€ข Maintain rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility
โ€ข Respect and maintain the confidentiality of students, staff, and personal communications at all times


Requirements:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree required; Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred
โ€ข Teaching certification (PA or ACSI) preferred; willingness to pursue ACSI certification required
โ€ข Active involvement in a local church
โ€ข Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances, and PA Act 168 disclosure forms upon hire
โ€ข A letter of reference from your pastor is to be submitted along with your resume


Compensation:
$19,000 annual salary (part-time, salaried). Includes 50% tuition discount for dependents of part-time staff.
