Job description

The Part-Time Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting compelling grant proposals, reports, and funding applications to foundations, corporations, government agencies, and community partners. Working collaboratively with YMCA leadership and program staff, this role helps secure resources that advance strategic priorities and community impact initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and identify grant opportunities that align with YMCA programs, strategic goals, and community needs.
• Prepare persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, applications, and supporting documentation.
• Manage grant submission timelines and ensure compliance with all application requirements.
• Collaborate with program leaders to gather data, outcomes, success stories, and budget information.
• Track grant awards, reporting deadlines, and stewardship requirements.
• Assist with grant reporting and funder communications.
• Support the development of funding strategies that strengthen organizational sustainability.
Requirements
• Experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, communications, or related fields.
• Demonstrated success securing grant funding preferred.
• Strong written, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to translate program outcomes into compelling narratives.
• Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community-based programs, or human service agencies preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor or grant management systems.
