Dental Practice Lead
Skokie and Chicago, IL

North Dental Professionals is seeking an experienced and motivated Dental Practice Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations, team performance, and overall success of our Skokie and Chicago practices.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to lead a dental team, drive accountability, monitor practice performance, and create an exceptional experience for both patients and employees. The Practice Lead will work closely with the Area Manager and providers while serving as the primary on-site leader for the team.

  • Monday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM ( once a month 7:30-4)

Key Leadership Responsibilities

Team Leadership amp; Development

  • Serve as the day-to-day leader of the practice and team
  • Set expectations and hold team members accountable for performance
  • Lead daily huddles and regular staff meetings
  • Coach, train, onboard, and develop team members
  • Help create a positive, professional, and collaborative culture
  • Partner with the Area Manager on performance reviews, employee development, and staffing needs
  • Manage staff scheduling, PTO requests, call-offs, and coverage
  • Identify workflow or performance concerns and help implement solutions

Practice Performance amp; Financial Management

  • Take ownership of the practiceโ€™s production and collection goals
  • Monitor key practice metrics, including production, collections, hygiene performance, treatment acceptance, and appointment failures
  • Oversee accounts receivable and collection efforts
  • Process payroll and monitor timekeeping accuracy
  • Ensure accurate end-of-day reconciliation and deposits
  • Identify opportunities to improve practice efficiency and performance

Practice Operations

  • Oversee daily office operations and ensure responsibilities are completed accurately and on time
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and efficient scheduling
  • Partner with the Operations Team and Area Manager on facility, vendor, and operational needs
  • Support providers and clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers an excellent patient experience

Front Office Oversight

  • Provide leadership and direction to front office functions
  • Oversee scheduling, patient communication, treatment coordination, insurance processes, collections, and financial arrangements
  • Step in to support front-office responsibilities when needed while maintaining focus on leading the overall practice
Management Qualifications
  • Dental practice management or dental office leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and holding employees accountable
  • Strong understanding of dental practice operations and workflow
  • Experience monitoring production, collections, KPIs, and practice performance
  • Experience with staff scheduling, payroll/timekeeping, training, and performance management
  • Working knowledge of dental insurance, treatment coordination, accounts receivable, and collections
  • Ability to address employee and operational issues professionally and confidently
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to balance team leadership, patient experience, and financial performance
  • Dental practice management software experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Compensation:
  • $27- 32 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 15-30 pounds occasionally.
