Private Music Teachers

Founded by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Booth in 1904, Cranbrook Educational Community is one of the worldโ€™s leading centers of education, science, and art. Comprised of a graduate Academy of Art, contemporary Art Museum, Center for Collections and Research, House and Gardens, Institute of Science, and more than 1,600 students attending our Pre-K through 12 independent college preparatory Schools, Cranbrook welcomes thousands of visitors and students to its campus each year. Critics have called Cranbrook โ€œthe most enchanted and enchanting setting in Americaโ€ and in 1989 it was designated a National Historic Landmark. Cranbrook Schools is seeking part-time Private Music Teachers to teach lessons at various grade levels. Instructors focus on scales, arpeggios, etudes, solo, and chamber music literature. Families will contact the instructor to request lessons, sign a contract, and schedule a mutually convenient time for the student and instructor.

Note: This is not a full-time or consistent part-time position; lessons are by appointment only and instructors are paid bi-weekly for lessons taught. Pay rate is $35 per 30-minute lesson.

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Music or related field; Masterโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Successful experience teaching students is required.
  • Extensive personal accomplishments in performance are preferred.
