Summary
Under limited supervision, performs administrative, record keeping, educational, in instructing students in the classroom setting. Work involves preparing and delivering lectures, maintaining appropriate accreditations for all programs; maintaining records of student attendance as required by the Community College System. Maintain documents as needed for enrollment of students.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provides certification instruction and continuing education courses
  • Reviews the student to determine they have demonstrated competency on each skill
  • Will assists the program Coordinator with ensuring that all required materials, equipment and supplies are available for students
  • Maintains attendance roster on a daily basis
  • Prepares individual and group instruction using a variety of teaching techniques and mediums.
  • Returns completed roster to director at end of class with signatures from students and instructor.

Qualifications
  • Hold and maintain a current North Carolina Criminal Justice Instructor credential.
  • Hold and maintain a current Speciality Instructor credential as needed.
  • The teaching experience should incorporate educational methodology, curriculum development, test construction, and measurement/evaluation.
  • Valid NC driver license
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students in a teacher/student setting in a variety of job search, job readiness, and computer subjects.
  • Computer software knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, and students.
  • Experienced in teaching computer skills and information to adults preferred.
  • Experienced teaching job search and readiness skills to adults preferred.
