The Media, Culture & the Arts Department builds on a solid foundation in the liberal arts to guide students toward their academic goals while preparing them for a global society. MCA coursework develops expertise in the visual arts, music, media production, writing, communication, and modern languages.
Job Summary
Middle Georgia State University invites applications for a part-time instructor of art to join our growing and student-centered art program for the spring 2027 semester. The successful candidate will teach foundational courses such as ARTS 1010 Drawing I; ARTS 1020 2D Design & Color Theory; or ARTS 1030 3D Design to support the B.A. in Applied Art & Design. Upper-level coursework may include figure drawing, painting, sculpture, or ceramics as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Providing quality instruction in foundational art courses
  • Collaborating with art faculty to promote its programs
  • Advising students interested in pursuing art as a career

Required Qualifications
Required Educational Qualifications
MFA in studio art or related field
Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to deliver undergraduate drawing instruction
Interest in and commitment to contributing to the growth and evolution of a dynamic art program
Student-centered approach to teaching with a strong commitment to engagement
Active involvement in creative practices and demonstrable experience with juried exhibitions
Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills
Ability to teach in-person on the Macon campus
