Job description

Join the Voices Behind Local Radio!
Connoisseur Media – Farmington/Festus is looking for a dynamic Part-Time On-Air Programmer / Board Operator to join our Farmington team. If you love radio, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy wearing multiple hats, this is your chance to get behind the mic and behind the scenes of local broadcasting.
This role offers hands-on experience in on-air programming, news writing and delivery, audio production, and board operation during exciting local sports broadcasts. Experience with WordPress and video production is a plus, but not required—we’re happy to train the right candidate with a strong passion for media and storytelling.
Connoisseur Media proudly operates KTJJ, KREI, KJFF, and MyMoInfo.com, keeping our communities informed and entertained. This is an as-needed, part-time opportunity with comprehensive training and real-world broadcast experience.
If you’re ready to turn your passion for radio into something more, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities of this position may include:
  • Engage with listeners via phone calls, contests, and social media.
  • Covering on-air board shifts as needed.
  • Broadcast live from remote locations and events.
  • Operate the control console.
Requirements of this position include the following:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
  • Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to successfully execute station events and remotes.
  • Able to relate to the audience and have strong listener interaction.
  • Public speaking skills and the ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressures and deadlines.
  • Skilled in the operation of the control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment.
  • Must be creative and innovative with a strong work ethic.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a fully insured personal vehicle.
Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following:
  • Prior broadcast industry experience.
We are Connoisseur Media, a broadcast and digital media company serving audiences, advertisers, and local communities. Recognized as one of the top 10 radio broadcasters in the U.S., we operate 216 radio stations in 47 markets and run a growing digital marketing business. From music and news to community events, we create media that matters. Through Connrex Digital, we help brands thrive with smart strategies, engaging stories, and expert PR. At our core, people are our passion and the heart of the Company, and we’re proud to be community-minded, with employees who love getting involved and making a difference.
Our benefits are designed to support your well-being and success, both on and off the job. We offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a 401(k) retirement plan, sick leave (when state-mandated), and paid time off to volunteer in your community.
Connoisseur Media is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by law.
