Position Overview

The Night Auditor plays a key role in ensuring smooth overnight operations of the Nicewonder Inn. This position balances guest service responsibilities with financial accuracy, including reconciling daily transactions and preparing reports. Serving as the main point of contact during overnight hours, the Night Auditor ensures guest satisfaction, safety, and seamless hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly audits of guest accounts, charges, and revenue postings.
  • Reconcile transactions, resolve discrepancies, and prepare daily financial/occupancy reports.
  • Assist guests with check-ins, check-outs, and overnight inquiries.
  • Respond promptly to guest needs, emergencies, and service requests.
  • Monitor property security systems and conduct routine safety checks.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to address issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in hotel front desk or night audit operations.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail; financial accuracy; excellent communication and customer service; ability to work independently overnight; proficiency with property management systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or training in hospitality, business, or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of hotel front desk operations and financial reconciliation.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act independently.
  • Strong attention to detail; financial accuracy; excellent communication and customer service; ability to work independently overnight; proficiency with property management systems and Microsoft Office.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Hotel front desk/lobby environment with regular interaction across departments.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer use.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs (luggage, supplies, equipment).
  • Overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
