Gordon Chevrolet is hiring an experienced and customer-focused Automotive Parts Counterperson to join our growing Parts Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive parts knowledge, strong customer service skills, eCommerce order support experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Job Summary
The Automotive Parts Counterperson will assist retail, wholesale, service, body shop, and online customers with automotive parts sales, parts lookup, eCommerce order processing, order fulfillment, special orders, invoices, and inventory support.
This role requires strong customer service, accurate parts identification, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership parts department. Gordon Chevrolet currently uses Tekion as our dealership management system, so Tekion experience is helpful but not required. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, organized, and comfortable assisting customers in person, over the phone, and through online communication.

Monday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Tuesday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Assist retail, wholesale, service, online, and body shop customers in selecting the correct automotive parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Answer incoming phone calls, provide price quotes, check parts availability, and assist customers with product information.
Sell automotive parts at the front counter, over the phone, and through online/eCommerce channels while providing excellent customer service.
Assist with eCommerce parts orders, including reviewing online orders, verifying part numbers, checking fitment, confirming availability, and preparing orders for shipment, delivery, or customer pickup.
Communicate with online customers regarding order status, part availability, shipping updates, backorders, returns, and fitment questions.
Use Tekion and parts catalog systems to assist with parts lookup, repair orders, invoicing, internal billing, and order tracking.
Support the dealership's online parts sales process by helping ensure accurate order processing, timely fulfillment, and professional customer follow-up.
Inform customers of companion part requirements, related parts, available specials, and product options.
Review body shop estimates to confirm correct parts are ordered and pricing is accurate.
Pull and fill parts orders from inventory for retail customers, online orders, service repair orders, and body shop repair orders.
Prepare orders for daily shipment, delivery, or customer pick-up.
Tag all parts clearly with customer names, repair order numbers, job numbers, order numbers, or estimate information.
Notify the Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts, shop supplies, or materials that require immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts from outside vendors and submit emergency orders when necessary.
Track and follow up on back-ordered parts, special-order parts, will-call items, eCommerce orders, and customer pick-up orders.
Notify service advisors, customers, online customers, and body shop personnel when special-order parts have arrived.
Verify will-call and back-order files weekly and return, stock, or process items that are no longer required.
Replenish assigned inventory areas daily and assist with inventory accuracy.
Assist outside sales representatives with wholesale and delivery orders.
Make sure all internal parts requests are properly billed on service repair orders.
Receive payments from retail customers or obtain proper credit authorization.
Ensure customers receive their invoice copies and all paperwork is accurate.
Process parts returns and issue credits when the original invoice or invoice number is available for verification.
Maintain organized records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, special orders, eCommerce orders, and related documentation.
Participate with the Parts Manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance and organized work area.
Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications
Automotive parts counter experience preferred.
Dealership parts department experience is a plus.
Automotive eCommerce, online parts sales, shipping, or order fulfillment experience is a plus.
Tekion DMS experience is helpful, as Gordon Chevrolet currently uses Tekion.
General Motors, Chevrolet, RevolutionParts, or electronic parts catalog experience is helpful.
Strong automotive parts knowledge and ability to look up parts accurately.
Ability to verify part fitment using VINs, catalogs, diagrams, and customer-provided vehicle information.
Excellent customer service and communication skills in person, over the phone, and through online communication.
Ability to multitask in a busy dealership parts department.
Strong attention to detail with invoices, repair orders, estimates, special orders, online orders, and shipping information.
Ability to work well with service advisors, technicians, body shop staff, wholesale customers, retail customers, and online customers.
