What is a parts associate?

A Parts Associate is a professional responsible for managing, organizing, and distributing automotive or machinery parts within a dealership, warehouse, or service center. Their duties often include assisting customers and technicians in finding the correct parts, maintaining inventory records, processing orders, and ensuring that parts are properly stocked. Parts Associates play a crucial role in keeping service operations running smoothly by ensuring parts are available when needed. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service abilities are key for this position.

How does a parts associate typically collaborate with service technicians and other departments?

Parts Associates play a crucial role in supporting service technicians by ensuring they have timely access to the correct parts for repairs and maintenance tasks. They often work closely with the service department to verify parts availability, track inventory, and coordinate orders to minimize equipment downtime. Additionally, Parts Associates may communicate with sales and procurement teams to maintain stock levels and assist with special orders. Effective collaboration and communication skills are essential for success in this role, as it often involves managing multiple requests and prioritizing urgent needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a parts associate, and why are they important?

Parts Counter Person

Position Summary We’re looking for a sharp, customer-focused Parts Counter Person to join our Infiniti dealership team. You’ll be the go-to expert helping both Infiniti owners and professional technicians find the exact Genuine Infiniti parts they need — quickly, accurately, and with top-tier service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist retail customers and wholesale technicians at the counter and over the phone
  • Use Infiniti’s EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) and other manufacturer systems to identify and locate parts
  • Provide accurate pricing, availability, and technical part information for all Infiniti models
  • Process sales, returns, warranty claims, and core returns efficiently
  • Pull, tag, and stage parts for customer pickup or delivery
  • Place special orders and track backorders for customers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local repair shops and Infiniti service customers
  • Keep the parts counter clean, organized, and professionally presented
  • Stay current with new Infiniti product releases and technical service bulletins

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous automotive parts experience (Infiniti, Nissan, or luxury brand experience is a big plus)
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with electronic parts catalog systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Positive attitude and team-player mindset
  • High school diploma or equivalent

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay plus monthly performance bonuses
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
  • Generous employee discount on parts and service
  • Ongoing manufacturer training and Infiniti certification opportunities
  • Career growth within a premium luxury dealership

If you know your way around an Infiniti, love helping customers, and take pride in getting the right part the first time, we’d love to meet you!
