What is a parts associate?

A Parts Associate is a professional responsible for managing, organizing, and distributing automotive or machinery parts within a dealership, warehouse, or service center. Their duties often include assisting customers and technicians in finding the correct parts, maintaining inventory records, processing orders, and ensuring that parts are properly stocked. Parts Associates play a crucial role in keeping service operations running smoothly by ensuring parts are available when needed. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service abilities are key for this position.

How does a parts associate typically collaborate with service technicians and other departments?

Parts Associates play a crucial role in supporting service technicians by ensuring they have timely access to the correct parts for repairs and maintenance tasks. They often work closely with the service department to verify parts availability, track inventory, and coordinate orders to minimize equipment downtime. Additionally, Parts Associates may communicate with sales and procurement teams to maintain stock levels and assist with special orders. Effective collaboration and communication skills are essential for success in this role, as it often involves managing multiple requests and prioritizing urgent needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a parts associate, and why are they important?

QC Supply is hiring a Full-Time Counter Sales / Parts Associate in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. This dynamic, 40-hour-per-week role blends customer service, parts sales, and warehouse duties. You'll assist walk-in customers, manage showroom inventory, and fulfill orders. Benefits include medical, dental, 401(k) match, and PTO.

About QC Supply

Founded in a garage in Schuyler, Nebraska in 1982, QC Supply has grown into a nationwide eCommerce platform and distributor supporting the future of farming. Our Batesburg-Leesville location serves the farm, swine, and poultry industries, but we've never lost our small-town, community-first roots.

As a Counter Sales / Parts Associate at QC Supply, you will be the backbone of our Batesburg-Leesville branch. You will split your time between ensuring inventory accuracy in the warehouse and delivering outstanding service to customers in our showroom. You will act as the face of QC Supply, engaging with customers in-store and over the phone. You'll troubleshoot their needs, recommend parts, and ensure that from the moment products arrive to the time they leave, everything runs smoothly.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy seeing processes through from start to finish, this is the perfect role for you!

What You'll Do

  • Inventory Management: Receive, stage, and stock incoming products, ensuring our inventory management system is always accurate.
  • Order Fulfillment: Expertly pick, pack, and prepare customer and vendor orders for safe shipping.
  • Showroom & Counter Sales: Assist walk-in customers, process payments, and provide expert advice on agriculture and equipment parts.
  • Customer Support: Answer incoming calls, handle inquiries, and promote special product offers.
  • Facility Maintenance: Help keep our warehouse and retail spaces clean, organized, and safe.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and remain on your feet throughout your shift.
  • Tech Skills: Comfort with computers, portable scanning technology, and general office equipment.
  • Customer-First Attitude: Strong communication and multitasking skills to juggle warehouse duties with face-to-face sales.
  • Experience: Previous warehouse, distribution, or agricultural industry experience is preferred, but we will train the right person!
  • Requirements: A High School Diploma (or GED) and a valid driver's license. Forklift certification is a major plus.

Why QC Supply?

We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package (after eligibility requirements met) designed to support you and your family, including:

  • Inventory Control: Conduct routine cycle counts, physical inventories, and maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages.
  • Upkeep: Keep the warehouse, stockroom, and facility workspaces clean, safe, and highly organized at all times.

Counter Sales & Customer Service

  • In-Store Assistance: Greet walk-in customers and help them identify the right industrial or agricultural products.
  • Phone Support: Process phone orders, answer product inquiries, and provide solutions in a professional manner.
  • Product Education: Guide new customers on the best uses for specialized products and promote ongoing sales and promotions.
  • Retail Displays: Assist in transferring stock to the on-site retail space and keep shelves neat and appealing.
