Director of Parts & Service Sales


The Director of Parts and Service Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing the short and long-term parts and service strategies to increase sales of parts and service solutions through technical expertise and exceptional relationship and territory management.  Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position will support the Regional Directors in the leadership of a team of Parts & Service Support Representatives “PSSRs” in designated territories across our organization, establishing specific objectives and targets for the PSSR team, investigating, analyzing and implementing new approaches to parts and service sales and new products. This role will lead specific product lines, as assigned, and ensure they are brought to market in a consistent, timely and effective manner. Leading an inside sales specialist, the Director of Parts and Service Sales will set pricing and review and approve quotes for Equipment and Tier II product sales.

BRANCH: Ideal candidate must reside within commuting distance to a Joe Johnson Equipment branch

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/ Certification:

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or a related program OR equivalent experience
  • Have or be able to obtain a valid passport for cross border travel
  • Must have valid drivers’ license with clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check

Experience:

  • Previous experience managing inside/outside sales team or experience in a related position
  • Experience leading and training others, including employee engagement initiatives
  • Sales experience with the Joe Johnson Equipment lines or similar product lines and/or Parts and Service Sales would be an asset.
  • Proficiency developing, implementing and leading product lines over a large territory – including the development of strategic and tactical approach
  • Advanced experience using a CRM, MS Office Suite, with a focus on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the key parts and service sales strategies in each market and partner with each PSSR to support in execution of those strategies
  • Act as a liaison between the PSSRs, the Regional Directors and individual branches to ensure optimal communication and inter-department efficiencies
  • Lead Sewer Camera Product Line across all territories – working with the vendor and the regional directors to establish and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Directly lead the Ontario Sewer Camera product specialist including territory management, goals and objectives
  • Directly lead the PSSR Refuse in Ontario to further enhance Refuse product support sales
  • Lead Inside Sales Specialist to support consistent pricing of PSSR Tier II and Equipment pricing
  • Develop strategic parts programs to achieve parts objectives
  • Develop marketing and promotional programs in collaboration with Marketing team
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and manage any escalated issues to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Ride along with PSSR’s on their regular on-site visits and provide support and feedback
  • Maintain vendor relations and agreements for specific vendors
  • Support the development of new product offerings and assess potential
  • Work with Sr. Manager Parts to identify optimal demo inventory levels for individual PSSR’s and ensure demo inventory is tracked and maintained
  • Advise on and support the development of marketing/prospecting plans and closing strategies for new business
  • Create and monitor sales objectives in collaboration with the parts and service departments
  • Provide reports and updates to leadership team as to PSSR performance, opportunities, and challenges
  • Forecast sales targets and create revenue targets based on strategic plans
  • Identify hiring needs in the PSSR team and assist with recruitment/onboarding
  • Mentor and support the PSSR team against objectives.
  • Identify PSSR training requirements and performance management needs and address in collaboration with the Regional Directors
  • Attend industry events and act as an ambassador for product lines - remain up to date with industry trends and business landscape
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as required to support overall company objectives
