Job description

Assistant General Manager

The Partridge Inn Augusta, Curio Collection by Hilton

NorthPointe Hospitality, one of the nation's Top 100 Management Companies

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are not looking for someone to help us run a hotel. We are looking for the leader who helps us become one of the top 10 Curio Collection properties in the United States.

The Partridge Inn is a National Trust Historic Hotel, built in 1910 on the foundation of an 1836 home, perched on a hilltop in Augusta's Summerville neighborhood with a quarter mile of verandas overlooking the city. We have welcomed heads of state, business magnates, and celebrities for more than a century, and we sit minutes from Augusta National in one of the most distinctive demand markets in American hospitality.

The property is also a dining and events destination. Our 8595 Restaurant and Bar serves Southern cuisine with a modern twist, Six South, our rooftop bar, takes in the Augusta skyline, and our event spaces host weddings, corporate gatherings, and social events for up to 200 guests.

The bones are extraordinary. The next chapter is about execution, guest experience, and a team that performs at the level the building deserves. That is where you come in.

WHO YOU ARE

You have run the floor and you have run the numbers. You read a P&L the way other people read a menu, and you can walk a guest from frustration to loyalty in a single conversation. You set a standard, you model it, and you hold a team to it without losing the warmth that makes people want to work for you.

You are the kind of operator who notices the lampshade that is slightly crooked and the team member who is having a hard week, and you handle both before lunch. You want a property with a story and a goal worth chasing, and you want a clear runway to General Manager.

If that is you, keep reading.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Partnering directly with the General Manager, you will help lead the full operation toward our guest experience and financial goals. Your highest leverage responsibilities:

  • Guest experience. Drive measurable improvement in Stay Experience scores and guest satisfaction. Own the response to feedback across TripAdvisor, OTAs, OpenTable, and our review platforms, and lead service recovery so that every complaint becomes a recovered, loyal guest.
  • Team leadership. Coach and develop Department Heads and team members. Set the standard for grooming, uniforms, and service, and build the cross departmental relationships that make a property run as one team rather than several.
  • Financial performance. Support daily revenue, accounts payable, payroll, and AR processes. Read the operation through GOP and flow through, and bring the GM solutions, not just reports.
  • Property condition. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of rooms, public areas, the restaurant, grounds, and physical plant. Monitor maintenance and FF&E condition, manage par stocks, and keep the property at the standard a historic landmark requires.
  • Ownership and brand. Protect compliance with Hilton brand standards, NorthPointe policies, and franchise requirements, and help align ownership goals with brand positioning through clear, proactive communication.
  • Stepping up. Lead meetings in the GM's absence, cover across departments as needed, and be available to respond to guest and team member emergencies. This is a 24/7 hospitality leadership role, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

Other duties will come with the territory, as they always do in this business.

WHAT YOU BRING

Five to ten years in hospitality, with at least three to four years as a Department Head, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager. A track record you can point to with real performance, real achievements, and real tenure. Strong command of hotel financials, personnel supervision, and problem resolution. Excellent written and spoken communication. A degree in hotel management or a related field is preferred. Experience in a Hilton or Marriott full service or lifestyle property is a strong plus.

WHAT WE OFFER

Compensation built to attract the right leader, not the available one:

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Performance bonus tied to property goals such as GOP, guest sentiment and Hilton scores.
  • 401(k) with up to 4% match.
  • Paid time off, team member travel benefits, health insurance, vision, dental, and continuing education.
  • A genuine, named path to General Manager for the leader who helps us reach our top 10 goal.
  • The chance to put your name on the next chapter of an Augusta landmark.

READY TO WRITE YOUR CHAPTER

Apply today and tell us, in a sentence or two, what you would do first to move the needle on guest experience. We read every one.

We are a team of caring, entrepreneurial, resilient hoteliers passionate about extraordinary guest service, committed to profitability, and dedicated to the long-term growth and development of our associates.
