Job description

Partnerships ManagerIn Office · Calgary, or Hybrid · Reports to Chief Growth OfficerSECTION 1 - ABOUT BIGGEOBigGeo is the Spatial Cloud. We help companies manage and access the world's spatial data.Any size, any slice, any insight.Delivered in seconds. The Spatial Cloud is the infrastructure layer that makes spatial data accessible to any company, at any scale, delivered in seconds. We help organizations manage and access the world's location data so their teams and AI systems can make big moves with confidence. We're building something that hasn't existed before: a new layer of the internet where the "where" and "when" behind every decision is instantly clear, programmable, and actionable. Our platform removes the complexity that has kept spatial data locked in silos for decades, and replaces it with speed, precision, and control. We're a Calgary-based company, early and moving fast, with real customers, real infrastructure, and a clear point of view on where the world is going.SECTION 2 - WHY BIGGEO EXISTS AND WHY PEOPLE BUILD HEREMost companies are spatially blind. They know what their data says, but not where or when things actually happen. That gap costs real money, creates real risk, and limits what AI can actually do in the physical world.BigGeo exists to close that gap. We're not building another tool. We're building the rails that connect the planet's moving data to the systems that run the world. That's a big problem, and it takes people who care about doing things right, not just fast.People build here because: The problem is real and the category is open. We're not competing for the middle of an existing market, we're defining a new one. Your work shapes what the category becomes. Your fingerprints are on the architecture. We're at the stage where the decisions you make today become the foundation tomorrow. What you ship matters. We run on clarity, not politics. We move with purpose. No bureaucratic drag, just a team that agrees on the mission and gets to work. You'll grow fast because the problems are hard. Spatial data at scale is a genuinely difficult domain. If you want to be stretched, you'll be stretched. We're building for longevity. We're not chasing hype cycles. We're building infrastructure, the kind that compounds in value over time and earns the trust of the companies that depend on it. SECTION 3 - THE ROLEBigGeo is hiring a Partnerships Manager to build and scale the strategic partnerships that accelerate growth of the Spatial Cloud. This role sits at the intersection of platform strategy, ecosystem development, commercial partnerships, and go-to-market execution. You will identify, negotiate, and grow relationships with technology providers, cloud platforms, system integrators, channel partners, spatial data organizations, AI companies, and enterprise partners that expand the reach and capabilities of the BigGeo platform.Success in this role means creating long-term strategic relationships that strengthen BigGeo's ecosystem, accelerate customer adoption, expand market reach, and reinforce BigGeo as the infrastructure layer for spatial intelligence. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to make sure every partnership creates measurable value for customers and for the Spatial Cloud ecosystem. This role owns the global ecosystem of strategic technology, cloud, AI, and commercial partners; partner programs that create repeatable growth; joint go-to-market initiatives; and the partnership frameworks that cover onboarding, governance, enablement, and success measurement. Done well, this role turns partnerships into one of BigGeo's core growth engines.Key ResponsibilitiesPartnership Strategy Build and execute BigGeo's partnership strategy end to end. Identify strategic partners that expand the value of the Spatial Cloud. Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, market expansion, and long-term platform growth. Business Development Build executive relationships with strategic partners across the ecosystem. Negotiate commercial agreements, strategic alliances, and joint initiatives. Design partnership models that create measurable outcomes for both sides. Ecosystem Development Expand BigGeo's ecosystem across cloud providers, AI platforms, system integrators, developers, and data providers. Build partner onboarding and enablement programs that scale beyond one-off deals. Create repeatable frameworks for partnership growth and success. Go-to-Market Collaboration Partner with Sales and Marketing on joint campaigns, events, announcements, and customer opportunities. Support enterprise sales through direct partner engagement. Drive co-selling and partner-led growth initiatives. Cross-Functional Leadership Work with Product and Engineering to align partnership priorities with platform capabilities. Bring market intelligence back into product strategy conversations. Make sure partnership commitments get executed, not just signed. Ecosystem Growth Track emerging partnership opportunities across AI, spatial computing, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software. Build long-term relationships that strengthen the Spatial Cloud category. Represent BigGeo at industry events, conferences, and executive engagements. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience leading strategic partnerships, business development, alliances, or ecosystem growth. A track record negotiating and managing executive-level commercial partnerships. Experience building partner programs within SaaS, cloud infrastructure, enterprise software, AI, or platform businesses. Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, and go-to-market teams. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience operating in startup or high-growth technology environments. Comfort using AI tools to improve execution, research, analysis, and productivity. Preferred Qualifications Experience in geospatial technology, mapping, GIS, transportation, logistics or location intelligence Experience working with hyperscalers and cloud ecosystem partners. Experience building marketplace or platform ecosystems. Familiarity with enterprise APIs and developer ecosystems. Experience with government, infrastructure, logistics, mobility, or smart city organizations. International partnership development experience. Technical Skills and Tools Cloud platforms and infrastructure ecosystems. APIs, developer platforms, and integration architectures. AI platforms and AI-enabled enterprise software. Spatial data platforms and geospatial technologies. Data governance, licensing, and enterprise architecture concepts. CRM and partnership management platforms. Slack, Google Workspace, and Monday.com. Advanced AI SkillsBigGeo operates as an AI-native company. Every role is expected to use modern AI tools to work faster, think more clearly, and produce better output. For a Partnerships Manager, that means: Using AI assistants to research prospective partners, summarize their platforms, and prepare for executive conversations faster. Drafting and refining partnership proposals, term sheets, and enablement materials with AI, while keeping judgment and negotiation strategy human-led. Running AI-assisted market and ecosystem intelligence: tracking competitor partnerships and category shifts, then turning them into clear recommendations for the team. Using AI to build repeatable partner onboarding content and enablement material, so programs scale without a large team behind them. Applying AI tools inside CRM and partnership management platforms to keep relationship data current and actionable. Staying current as AI tooling evolves and bringing new approaches back to the partnerships function. AI fluency is not a nice-to-have at BigGeo. It is part of how the role is performed.Leadership, Collaboration, and Communication Expectations Lead without waiting to be told. Partnerships at BigGeo move as fast as the person driving them. Build executive relationships that hold up under pressure and represent BigGeo credibly at the table. Write clearly. Partnership frameworks, deal summaries, and internal updates are how the rest of BigGeo tracks what's happening across the ecosystem. Work daily with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership. There are no handoff walls, just shared ownership of the outcome. Bring market and partner intelligence back into the building early. Insight that stays in your notes doesn't help anyone. Success Measures for the RoleFirst 30 days Deep understanding of the Spatial Cloud platform, architecture, and current partner landscape. Relationships established with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership. Initial partnership audit complete: what's working, what's missing, where the biggest opportunities sit. First set of priority partner targets identified and prioritized. First 60 days Partnership strategy drafted and reviewed with Executive Leadership. Active conversations underway with priority technology, cloud, or ecosystem partners. Partner onboarding and enablement framework in early draft form. First joint go-to-market opportunity identified with Sales and Marketing. First 90 days At least one strategic partnership signed or in final negotiation. Partner program framework in place and ready to scale. Co-selling or partner-led pipeline contributing to the sales motion. A clear reporting cadence established for partnership performance and pipeline impact. Beyond 90 days A growing ecosystem of strategic technology, cloud, AI, and commercial partners. Partnerships recognized internally as a core growth engine, not a side function. BigGeo positioned as the preferred Spatial Cloud platform among key ecosystem players. Playbooks in place for the next partnerships hire to build on. SECTION 4 - WORK ENVIRONMENT AND COLLABORATIONBigGeo is an in-office team. We build in person, think out loud, and move faster together than we ever could apart. Our Calgary office isn't just where we work, it's where the product gets shaped, where problems get solved on whiteboards, and where the culture gets built. We believe proximity accelerates everything: tighter feedback loops, faster decisions, and the kind of trust that only comes from showing up alongside each other every day. Here's what working at BigGeo looks like day-to-day: In-person by default. We work together in the office, not because we have to, but because we've seen what it produces. Collaboration here is a competitive advantage, not a checkbox. Flat and direct. We don't communicate in layers. If you have an idea, a concern, or a better way to do something, say it. We'd rather have a sharp conversation than a slow consensus. Async when it makes sense. Not every conversation needs a meeting. We're disciplined about how we use each other's time. Cross-functional by design. Product, engineering, data, and go-to-market work closely together. There are no hand-off walls here, just shared ownership of the outcome. Tight feedback loops. We ship, we learn, we adjust. Speed of iteration is part of the culture, not an accident. SECTION 5 - PERKS OF WORKING AT BIGGEOWe take care of the people who build here. That means keeping things simple, human, and worth showing up for. Free refreshments and snacks, every day. The office is stocked. Fuel yourself without thinking about it. Downtown Calgary location. We're right in the heart of the city, steps from a wide range of cafes, restaurants, and eateries. Lunch options are never a problem. Regular off-site team activities. We get out of the office and spend time together as a team, not as a box-ticking exercise, but because we actually like the people we work with. Work that compounds. The experience you build here, on real infrastructure, in a category-defining company, at an early stage, is the kind that opens doors for the rest of your career. A team that respects your time. We don't pad schedules or manufacture urgency. When you're here, you're working on things that matter.
