Job description

Description

Referral Partnerships | Healthcare | Mid-Atlantic Region

Help Families Find Answers When They Need Them Most

At EPIARX Diagnostics, we help families, attorneys, healthcare professionals, and communities obtain answers during some of life's most difficult moments.

We are a growing private pathology practice specializing in independent autopsy and pathology services. Our work provides clarity, truth, documentation, and peace of mind when unanswered questions matter most.

As we continue to expand across the Mid-Atlantic region, we are seeking a high-performing Regional Business Development Manager to build and strengthen the referral partnerships that drive our growth.

This is not a transactional sales role.

This is a relationship-building role for someone who understands how trust is earned, maintained, and converted into long-term professional partnerships.

Why This Role Matters

The relationships you build directly impact families seeking answers, healthcare professionals looking for trusted resources, and organizations searching for reliable independent pathology services.

You will help create the referral infrastructure that supports the next phase of growth for EPIARX while representing a mission-driven healthcare organization with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for developing and managing referral relationships throughout the DMV and Mid-Atlantic region.

Primary relationship categories include:

  • Funeral homes
  • Hospitals and healthcare organizations
  • Medical malpractice law firms
  • Professional associations
  • Community organizations
  • Strategic referral partners

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing new referral partnerships
  • Strengthening existing referral relationships
  • Conducting in-person meetings and networking activities
  • Representing EPIARX at industry events and conferences
  • Managing and improving CRM data integrity
  • Building and maintaining an active referral pipeline
  • Tracking partnership activity and outcomes
  • Collaborating with leadership on growth initiatives
  • Creating visibility into business development performance and opportunities

This role requires a high degree of autonomy, organization, and follow-through.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

  • Learn EPIARX services, positioning, and referral ecosystem
  • Develop territory strategy and target partner list
  • Begin outreach and relationship-building efforts
  • Demonstrate proficiency within CRM systems and reporting

First 60 Days

  • Establish a consistent cadence of meetings and networking activity
  • Build a visible and organized referral pipeline
  • Begin generating meaningful referral conversations and opportunities
  • Strengthen existing referral relationships

First 90 Days

  • Contribute to measurable increases in consultations and case opportunities
  • Develop active referral partnerships
  • Demonstrate ownership of territory growth and pipeline management
  • Become a trusted representative of the EPIARX brand

Ideal Background

We recognize that great candidates come from many industries.

You may be an excellent fit if you have experience in:

  • Healthcare business development
  • Provider relations
  • Physician liaison roles
  • Hospice or healthcare outreach
  • Law firm business development
  • Professional services business development
  • Community partnership development
  • Relationship-based account management
  • Funeral service outreach and relationship management

Experience in pathology is not required.

We provide comprehensive training on our services, referral ecosystem, and relationship development process.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of business development, partnership development, account management, provider relations, or relationship-based sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline activity
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the DMV and Mid-Atlantic region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Legal industry experience
  • Funeral service industry experience
  • Experience working with professional referral networks
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

The Type of Person Who Thrives Here

You are:

  • Relationship-oriented
  • Self-directed
  • Highly accountable
  • Organized and disciplined
  • Professionally persistent
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Skilled at earning trust over time
  • Curious, resourceful, and proactive

You understand that meaningful partnerships are built through consistency, credibility, and follow-through-not pressure.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary ($60,000-$80,000)
  • Quarterly performance incentives tied to partnership development and referral growth
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Commuter benefits
  • Mental health days
  • Birthday leave
  • Sunshine Fridays (early Fridays when team goals are achieved)
  • Professional autonomy and leadership visibility
  • Opportunity to help build a rapidly growing healthcare organization
