Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a dynamic Federal Civilian Business Development Executive to lead and expand our Federal Financial Portfolio - driving high-impact growth. Successful candidates will have depth in at least two of these accounts: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) or another federal financial agency. Candidates will have broad knowledge of the federal financial market and the ability to grow relationships and evolve opportunities in other federal financial accounts. This role is based in the Washington, DC Metro area and requires travel as needed for customer engagements and industry events.
Reporting to the Federal Civilian Sector (FCS) VP Growth, this leader will serve as a key member of the growth team, collaborating closely with operational and functional leaders across the organization. The successful candidate will develop deep insight into customer needs, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics, translating that knowledge into actionable growth strategies and winning business cases aligned with Peraton's core capabilities and differentiators.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, qualification, and development of strategic opportunities aligned with corporate capabilities and growth campaigns, driving measurable revenue growth
  • Achieve acquisition and sales objectives through new business wins, recompetes, and teaming strategies on deals $50M to $1B+
  • Serve as the primary interface with customers for your accounts, building strong, trusted relationships
  • Strategically shape customer requirements and acquisition strategies to position the company for success
  • Identify and pursue new markets, adjacencies, and strategic partnerships
  • Apply the Peraton Business Acquisition Process to effectively manage and communicate opportunity status and strategies
  • Collaborate with technical and program teams to support early-stage opportunities, including RFIs, market research, white papers, presentations, and demonstrations
  • Evolve the strategic Account Plans to support your portfolios

Must be local to the DC Metro area and have the ability to travel as needed
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • 16+ years of experience, may have management experience
  • Must have at least seven (7)+ years experience in business development focused in at least two of the following accounts: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) or other federal financial agency
  • Demonstrated success in winning single-award contracts valued at $50M+
  • Experience building and managing opportunity pipelines and captures exceeding $100M
  • Deep understanding of customer missions, priorities, procurement processes and acquisition dynamics
  • Strong understanding of competitors in our marketplace
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with government stakeholders and strategic teaming partners (prime and subcontractors)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate independently and drive results
  • Strong relationships within federal financial agencies
  • Ability to think strategically and operate independently
  • Exceptional business acumen, integrity, professionalism, and high energy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organization levels internally and externally
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Local to the DC Metro area and ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Information Systems or related field
  • Active Secret security clearance (or higher)

Target Salary Range
$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
