The Elevate portfolio of brands includes American & Efird (A&E), Burlington, Cone Denim, Gütermann and Safety Components. Elevate Textiles is committed to delivering solutions that protect and enhance our lives through its global manufacturing platform that includes 30 facilities and nearly 14,000 employees.

Position Overview

Elevate Textiles is seeking a Plant Accountant to support its Raeford manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Controller, this position serves as the primary day-to-day finance representative for the plant by partnering closely with operations to provide accounting support, manufacturing cost analysis, operational insight, and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in connecting financial performance with manufacturing operations by analyzing production performance, investigating variances, monitoring inventory and labor performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, initiative, intellectual curiosity, and regular engagement within the manufacturing environment. This will require 5 days on-site at the Raeford plant with travel as needed to the other facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing performance including labor, waste, production efficiency, inventory, machine utilization, operating supplies, and other key operational metrics while investigating significant variances and supporting root cause analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly accruals, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities while assisting with operational and financial reporting.
  • Partner with the Plant Controller, Plant Manager, and operations leadership to understand manufacturing performance, identify operational issues, provide financial insight, and support continuous improvement efforts through regular participation in plant activities and production discussions.
  • Support inventory accounting by analyzing operating supplies, packaging, dye, chemical, maintenance inventories, inventory reconciliations, and related manufacturing costs to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory control.
  • Provide financial support for purchasing, capital projects, and other plant accounting activities while collaborating with operations, engineering, supply chain, and corporate finance to achieve business objectives and perform special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with operations and finance personnel.
  • Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and ability to investigate business issues and explain financial performance.
  • Comfortable working within a manufacturing environment and engaging directly with plant personnel.
