About Haven Energy
At Haven, we're on a mission to accelerate the transition to clean energy by making reliable and affordable power accessible to all. Through strategic partnerships with utilities, non-profits, EPCs, and government agencies, we deploy distributed energy resources at residential and small C&I sites to build virtual power plants (VPPs) at scale. We believe that widespread, decentralized storage is essential to a more resilient and sustainable energy future, come join us.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Incentive Specialist to help Haven customers capture the full value of available solar and energy storage incentives across the U.S., with an initial strong emphasis on California's Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP).
This role is critical in ensuring customers meet all program and compliance requirements while guiding them through all applicable program requirements, such as demand response enrollment and utility rate adjustments. The Incentive Specialist will work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to deliver a seamless and transparent incentive process that maximizes both customer savings and program success.
What You'll Do
  • Manage Incentive Applications: Own the full lifecycle of SGIP and other solar/storage incentive submissions, from documentation and submission to approval, potential revisions and payment.
  • Ensure Compliance: Guide customers through applicable program requirements such as demand response participation, rate plan requirements, and other incentive compliance steps to maintain program eligibility.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage and coordinate with external vendors or partners supporting incentive processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and program compliance across all submissions.
  • Monitor Incentive Programs Nationwide: Stay current on rebate structures, eligibility rules, and application processes across multiple states and utilities.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Operations, Sales, and Customer Care to gather and verify all required data for incentive submissions.
  • Track and Report: Maintain organized records of applications, statuses, and payouts while providing updates to both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Communication Management: Own the processing / vendor management to process inbound messages from both rebate administrators and homeowners. Be able to clearly communicate complicated guidelines and qualification requirements to homeowners as they seek to better understand program participation.
  • Data and Reporting: Develop internal processes to own, manage and track relevant program statistics and progress towards identified goals
  • Improve Internal Processes: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and documentation for incentive handling.
  • Educate & Train: Develop and share internal resources to expand company-wide understanding of incentive programs and compliance requirements.

What You'll Bring
  • 4+ years of experience managing or supporting solar and/or energy storage incentive programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with California's SGIP program and related utility coordination.
  • Experience managing vendors or third-party processors to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Familiarity with demand response programs and rate structures within major utilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset and the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
  • Experience with CRM or project management tools.
