What is a partner development manager at AWS?

A Partner Development Manager (PDM) at AWS is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with AWS's partner organizations, such as independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators, and consulting firms. Their primary goal is to help these partners grow their business on the AWS platform by providing guidance, resources, and support. PDMs work closely with partners to develop go-to-market strategies, drive joint business initiatives, and ensure partners are equipped to deliver cloud solutions to customers. They also collaborate with internal AWS teams to align partner activities with AWS's broader business objectives.

How does a partner development manager at AWS typically collaborate with internal teams to support partner success?

As a Partner Development Manager at AWS, you will frequently collaborate with internal teams such as sales, solutions architecture, marketing, and product specialists. This collaboration ensures that partners receive the technical guidance, co-marketing opportunities, and sales enablement they need to build successful AWS-based solutions. Regular cross-functional meetings and joint strategy sessions are common, as is the need to communicate partner feedback internally to drive improvements. Building strong relationships within AWS is key to navigating resources and delivering value to partners.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a partner development manager at AWS, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Partner Development Manager at AWS, you need expertise in cloud solutions, partner relationship management, and a solid understanding of AWS products, often supported by a degree in business or technology. Familiarity with Salesforce, AWS Partner Network tools, and relevant certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly valuable. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills help you build strong alliances and drive joint business growth. These skills are crucial for effectively expanding AWS's partner ecosystem and achieving shared success with partners.

Job description

Partner Development Manager (PDM), Global Strategic Technology Partnerships

Location: AMER Reports to: VP, Strategic Technology Partners

About the role

You'll work with some of the biggest technology companies in the world: AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, and Shopify. As our AMER PDM for tech partners, you'll turn global partnership strategy into regional-specific execution in AMER that drives pipeline and revenue for Braze while feeding each partner's own commercial model.

You'll work most closely with our Global Account Leaders, who own the global relationship with a single partner (for example, the AWS global relationship owner), and our Partner Sales Managers (PSMs), who own partner activity on specific Braze customer opportunities.

What you'll doExecute regional partner development strategies
  • Work closely with global account leads to translate global partner strategies into AMER-specific execution.
  • Own delivery of regional programmes that unlock new revenue opportunities for both Braze and the partner.
  • Deepen partner relationships beyond the partnerships org, into industry and vertical sales leadership.
Own AMER AWS Marketplace growth
  • Grow new business transacted through AWS Marketplace, moving Braze's engagement from reactive to proactive.
  • Own the commercial levers behind marketplace growth: co-sell relationships, pipeline quality, and partner funding and incentive programmes.
Enablement and evangelism
  • Champion Braze inside partner field organisations and build the case for why partner sellers should bring Braze into their accounts.
  • Enable Braze sellers on when and why marketplace is the right route for a deal, and evangelise joint wins across both organisations.
What success looks like
  • Pipeline: PQLs plus sourced and influenced closed-won business, growing quarter over quarter and year over year across your assigned GSPs.
  • Marketplace: more ACV/TCV and transaction volume through AWS, Google Cloud, and eventually Snowflake marketplaces and field sales programs.
  • Field engagement: Braze AEs, CPLs, and partner field reps actually running marketplace motions, not just hearing about them.
  • Operations: clean, accurate partner pipeline data and a healthy partner referral flow.
What we're looking for
  • 3 to 5 years in partnerships, business development, or cloud sales at a SaaS company.
  • Hands-on experience with hyperscaler and cloud marketplaces (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Snowflake), including the funding and incentive programs around them.
  • Experience managing pipeline, forecasts, and sales motions in Salesforce.
  • The trust-building skills to run joint GTM plays with partner field teams, and the operational discipline to keep the data behind them clean.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, and comfort working across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product.
Why Join Braze

At Braze, we're building the customer engagement platform of the future. Our GSP ecosystem with AWS, Google, Snowflake, Databricks, and Shopify represents a critical growth engine for Braze. As a Partner Development Lead, you'll be on the front lines of driving this growth, shaping how we engage with partners regionally, and ensuring that marketplace and field sales motions are a consistent source of new revenue, influence, and scale.

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $96,000 and $130,000/year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $128,000 and $183,000/year (including bonus or commission).Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that you will own a piece of our company.
