Human Resources Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is seeking an organized, people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to help create an exceptional associate experience from a candidate's first interview through onboarding, recognition, engagement, and beyond.

As the welcoming face of the Human Resources office, you'll work directly with hotel leadership while helping recruit outstanding talent, coordinate onboarding, support associate engagement initiatives, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

  • Starting pay: $20.00/hour

What You’ll Do

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you'll partner with the Director of Human Resources to support every stage of the associate experience while helping maintain an engaging, organized, and welcoming workplace.

Responsibilities include:

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Coordinate the recruiting process from job posting through onboarding.
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Schedule interviews and maintain communication with applicants.
  • Process background checks, I-9s, E-Verify, and employment documentation.
  • Prepare new hire files and assist with New Hire Orientation.
  • Ensure every new associate receives an exceptional first-day experience with HRD

Associate Experience & Culture

  • Welcome associates and applicants as the first point of contact for the HR office.
  • Coordinate and assist in People Pleaser recognition activities, service anniversaries, birthdays, and associate celebrations.
  • Assist with Associate Engagement Survey communications and follow-up initiatives.
  • Help coordinate the PEP Committee, wellness activities, holiday celebrations, and associate appreciation events.
  • Design flyers, newsletters, bulletin boards, and internal communications that reinforce Hyatt and Marcus culture.

Human Resources Administration

  • Maintain confidential personnel, medical, benefit, and I-9 files.
  • Process transfers, promotions, wage adjustments, and employment changes as directed by HRD.
  • Maintain HR reports, recruiting metrics, compliance logs, and employment records.
  • Answer HR phone calls and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain office supplies, forms, name badges, and organization of the HR office.

HR Partnership & Professional Development

  • Coordinate required compliance and operational training.
  • Assist with annual performance review tracking.
  • Support associate investigations through documentation and fact gathering.
  • Assist with leave administration, benefit enrollment, and other HR initiatives.
  • Participate on hotel committees and assist with special projects that strengthen associate engagement and workplace culture.
