Job description

DEPARTMENT: Retail Store

REPORTS TO: Store Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cashiers are responsible for responding to customer inquiries, providing support throughout their shopping experience in-person and over the phone, processing sales using a cash register, obtaining different methods of payment, and addressing customer complaints.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Process customer transactions using scanner and POS system
  2. Collect payment from customers and make change for cash transactions
  3. Give printed receipts and invoices to customer
  4. Refer customer complaints to management
  5. Safety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customers
  6. Balance cash drawer
  7. Keep work area clean and organized
  8. Stock merchandise on shelves at the front lanes
  9. Bring in carts from outside
  10. Additional duties, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have a friendly and outgoing personality
  2. Must possess strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
  3. Basic computer skills
  4. Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  5. Ability to:
  • Multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
