Job description

Deputy Jailer (Part-Time)

Individual needed to maintain a safe and secure environment for the care and custody of all inmates remanded to the detention center. Duties include enforcing all rules and regulations as well as policies and procedures of the facility; assuring the smooth operation of the facility by identifying problems, solutions and the implementation of corrective actions; performing all intake and release procedures; conducting regular cell searches on all inmate living areas, to verify that the facility remains free of contraband, weapons, trash, etc.

Position requires graduation from high school or possession of a GED and some related work experience. Individuals must also be 21 years of age, a US citizen, possess a valid driver’s license, and be eligible to possess a firearm. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience working in a detention center, security, law enforcement, and/or those with vocational or college training/education in security, law enforcement or a related field. Qualified candidates with military service should be prepared to provide a copy of their DD214.

Workshifts typically begin at 7am or 7pm. Uniforms are provided for all staff.
