Job Summary:
The School of Communication & The Arts invites applications for various Part-Time Faculty positions for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. Opportunities to teach multiple/additional courses may become available. Successful candidates will teach, develop course materials, assist students as needed, and assess student work.
Video Editing
This course provides an introduction to the principles and techniques of video editing. Students will learn the fundamentals of editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, with supplementary instruction in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. Emphasis is placed on storytelling, technical fluency, professional workflow, and editing history. As part of the curriculum, students complete structured preparation aligned with the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) - Digital Video Using Adobe Premiere Pro exam objectives, developing industry-aligned skills that support academic and career success.
Screenwriting for Film & Television
This workshop course focuses on the tools professional screenwriters use to create compelling film and television stories. Students will learn scene-writing techniques based on the principles of dramatic irony, visual storytelling, three-act story structure, and protagonist-driven narrative. Students will identify and solve story problems in their own writing and in the writing of their classmates as they develop concepts into treatments and step outlines for feature-length movies or hour-long television scripts.
Timeslot for Fall '26: MW 3:30-4:45PM
Advanced Screenwriting
This workshop course will guide students through the drafting and rewriting process as they complete and polish a full-length film or television screenplay. In addition to creating their own scripts and workshopping those of their classmates, students will learn to analyze stories for the screen and to write professional-quality coverage for produced and unproduced screenplays. Students will also learn how to enter scripts in competitions and festivals, how to attain representation, and how other careers in the entertainment industry are related to script writing and development.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters or Bachelors degree in an appropriate field, and/or Industry/professional experience.
  • Proficiency in the following: Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop
  • General familiarity with Avid and DaVinci Resolve

Essential Functions:
Opportunities are available to teach in one or more areas across several disciplines over time. Teaching opportunities include undergraduate courses that may be available in both on-ground and online environments. Availability to teach during daytime hours is desired.
