Job Title: Part-time Psychiatrist – Region 5
Location: Lucasville, OH 45699
Shift: Flexible (core hours 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Duration: At least 6 months
Hours per Week: 20 (Part-time)
Education: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO, board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry)
Job Overview
We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide on-site psychiatric services on a part-time basis (16–20 hours/week) for the male incarcerated population. The psychiatrist will provide behavioral health treatment, manage patient caseloads, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams using nationally recognized standards.
The selected psychiatrist will typically meet with 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift, managing a caseload of 75–100 patients. Assignments may last at least 6 months and could potentially lead to permanent hire. Schedule is flexible based on facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
•    Collaborate with intra- and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients.
•    Conduct patient exams, write evaluations, and generate reports.
•    Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
•    Manage medications and monitor patient response.
•    Make referrals for specialized care or treatment as needed.
•    Perform duties in accordance with professional scope of practice, facility policies, procedures, and standards.
•    Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including peer reviews.
•    Engage in collaborative agreements as required.
Required Qualifications
•    Active Ohio Medical License.
•    Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry.
•    Healthcare professional-level CPR certification.
•    DEA certification (as applicable).
•    Experience in behavioral health, forensic psychiatry, or correctional healthcare preferred.
