Retail Security Officer (Part-Time)

LOCATION:

Whalers Village- Lahaina, HI

PAY:

$24.72/hour

POSITION TYPE:
Part-Time

SCHEDULE:

Overnight 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

OVERVIEW:

We are hiring aRetail Security Guardto help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Security & Patrol

  • Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity
  • Control access points and manage pedestrian/vehicle traffic
  • Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems
  • Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all post orders, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols
  • Inspect property for safety risks (fire hazards, equipment issues, etc.)
  • Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements

Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors in a professional manner
  • Provide directions and support as needed
  • Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in emergency situations
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • State Guard license is required.

Preferred

  • Prior security or customer-facing experience

  • State Guard license is required.
