Your duties and responsibilities vary greatly depending on the type of work you do. If you are a bus driver, you pick up children or students and drive them to and from school on a designated route. Part-time crossing guards also help ensure students’ safety. Part-time work in legal fields, such as being a court reporter, typically only requires you to type or transcribe hearings during normal business hours.

What are some common scheduling challenges faced in part-time roles with weekends off, and how can applicants prepare for them?

One common challenge in part-time positions with weekends off is that shifts may be concentrated on weekdays, which can sometimes lead to a busier workload during those days. To prepare, it's helpful to communicate your availability clearly during the hiring process and be proactive in discussing any recurring commitments. Building strong relationships with team members can also make shift swaps or coverage easier when needed.
