ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits.
    1. TRANSPORT: Operation of pallet jacks to transport product within facility; work in variable indoor ambient conditions; work in temperature controlled areas with cool and below freezing conditions.
    2. RETRIEVE: Travel along aisles and/or throughout facility and between pallet and racks to place and retrieve product, using full reach of 84 inches, including areas of limited access; work at heights; in conveyorable warehouse, climb between selection modules and on ladders; placement of appropriate marker on product for inventory. Completion of job tasks according to specified performance requirements.
    3. TRANSFER: Manual transport of product to and from stock areas and pallets (including conveyors in conveyorable warehouses); use of protective equipment as required; use of voice select (Vocollect) system required.
    4. IDENTIFY: Determination of product placement based on written and verbal instructions.
    5. COMMUNICATE: Recognition of auditory sounds and signals, verbal communication and written symbols; individual work with some coordination with coworkers to ensure task completion.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma preferred; prior warehouse experience plus warehouse mobile equipment operating experience preferred. Basic required competencies: Conscientiousness, detail oriented, safety minded, self motivated to achieve, high initiative, ability to work with limited supervision, team oriented, learning and applying information, ability to follow instructions in English (both written and verbal).
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence relating to position.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic math and algebra.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Posses the ability to work with coworkers and gain mutual respect with a common goal of increasing sales and profitability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate safely warehouse mobile equipment.

Indoors, with adequate cooling, heating, and adequate lighting. Outdoors as needed. Working in warehouse environment with moderate noise due to industrial mobile equipment operation and varied temperatures based on assigned work area. Temperatures will vary based on outside temperatures for the non-air-conditioned section and cool temperatures ranging from -15 to the upper 40's for the perishable sections.
This position's basic purpose is to use all available resources to assist the Distribution Department in continuous growth and financial success of the Membership and Company.
