Job description

Title: Part-time Temporary NILO Outdoors Specialist
Location: Brighton, IL

Salary: $15.00
Schedule: Flexibility to work alternative days, hours, and weekends. Note: Facility hours change seasonally. Peak season is February-March, May-June, and September- November

Focus: Ensure a safe, wellmaintained, and customerfocused environment at NILO Farms by supporting daily grounds and range operations, assisting guests, and upholding all safety and compliance standards across shooting and hunting activities.

Part-time Temporary NILO Outdoors Specialist Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain NILO grounds, including mowing, weed eating, and limb/trash removal.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment and buildings.
  • Stock target fields as needed.
  • Provide operational support for shooting ranges, including filling target machines, transporting targets and ammunition, and maintaining range conditions by picking up empty shells.
  • Assist with hunts, including catching and placing birds on hunting courses, driving participants, and managing dogs.
  • Clean and maintain dog kennels, as requested.
  • Instruct guests on shooting range safety and operational protocols.
  • Execute customer payment transactions.


Part-time Temporary NILO Outdoors Specialist Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Working knowledge of farm machinery, general construction equipment, and common hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; climb stairs/ladders; walk extensively; stand for prolonged periods; and work at heights and in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ammunition/firearm experience and knowledge of the shooting sports industry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers, exercising discretion and diplomacy.
  • Flexibility to work alternative days, hours, and weekends. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license.


Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
